Thursday 19 January 2012: Sporran Maker
Behind this unassuming (not to say rather scruffy) exterior on Causewayside is the workshop and office of Scotland's most respected sporran maker.
William Scott & Sons are into the third generation making sporrans from the best materials to the highest standard of workmanship to any number of designs, both traditional and innovative.
Mr Flum bought his here, he was able to choose the piece of leather and the detail of the design so it is unique. It is a beautiful piece of work that will last forever and could even become a family heirloom.
Certainly anything made here will outlast the cheap imported variety sold in the 'tartan tat' shops.
