Tithonus

I was going to photograph some fungi I had noticed on a rotting tree, but as I was feeling a bit crook this morning I delegated dog walking to M so didn't get a chance . However thinking about the shot made me think of this poem by Tennyson, so I thought I'd blip that instead.

The woods decay, the woods decay and fall,
The vapours weep their burthern to the ground,
Man comes and tills the ground and lies beneath,
And after many a summer dies a swan .....
