Saturday 21 January 2012: Suburban street
Went round for tea and birthday cake at one of L's writing group friend's house this afternoon. Very hospitable. Over on the other side of town, in that deceptively large space between Dalkeith Road and Mayfield Gardens. The two roads heading southwards down the hill from Newington seem close together and yet there are several streets of large houses tucked away in there. Always surprising the little gaps in one's knowledge of a city you've lived in for more than a quarter of a century.
