Tuesday 22 July 2008: Gila
Finally decided to say F the weather people that have scared me with their "isolated severe storms," despite it being sunny and beautiful for the past 2 days, and the Gila and I took our first ride together.
Despite not riding in a long time and going during the late heat of a hot day... I was actually pretty impressed with myself. Went about 8 miles easily!
There's a cache along the bike path that I meant to get, but the coords say down, the description says up, and the logs say the cache isn't in the right place anymore. For once, I used my better judgment and didn't go tromping on into the poison ivy in search of the thing. My first ever case of poison ivy/oak/sumac/whatever the hell I have is just lovely, and I'd like it to go away and never come back. Too much information... but my leg has been pussing for hours. Seriously, I have to keep a paper towel under it whenever I stop moving, or take a paper towel with me when I do move. We're going on 10 hours at this point... minus about an hour and a half ride when it was covered. I'm gonna lose weight!
It's sexy... I know.
