Saturday 21 January 2012: Cai waits
Went skiing to Sunshine Village about 10 minutes outside Banff today.
Here you see Cai, a German Shepherd trained to sniff out avalanche victims and his handler, Sam. Sam who is from New Zealand has been working with Cai for 5 months. Here Cai is waiting for Sam to get his skis on as they head off for their afternoon patrol
Going skiing bit of a spur of the moment decision but a good one in the end. I had not been skiing for two year because of my groin injury last year. The snow was fantastic, lots if powder but visibility was pretty poor at times and the wind was cold. nevertheless not a bad day at all for January.
