Sunday 22 January 2012: Windmill on Walton Hill
Another well known local landmark (again on NT land) and, like yesterday's Burrow Mump, with an interesting history for an apparently unassuming building including supposed connections to the Monmouth rebellion. It's also rather charming, I think, to discover there is a website called Windmill World.
As you can see, it was a glorious morning for a ramble on the hill which has fantastic views across the Levels from the escarpment to the left of thi picture; what you can't see is that it was blowing a gale up there!
