Clix : Aperture Wide Shut

Cold as Coots

What a cold freezing day. The wind chill factor just was no joke.

A trip out to a farm in the borders for a walk and to see some animals was cut very short by our three year old exclaiming that she was very very cold. Everyone agreed and it was back into the car. The farm dog watched us leave. He was a rather downtrodden looking sheep dog whose fur was covered in frozen mud and his forlorn look seemed to sum up the feeling for the trip.

Poor wee thing.

We decided to venture into town instead to pick up MrsClix's "space mixer". It must be able to go into space or something. It can't just mix stuff. You know, like a spoon. Can it? Anyway, MrsClix is very happy with her new Kitchen Aid. They even had it in the correct colour. After about a month of waiting and contacting John Lewis on a regular basis.

After picking up the mixer and risking a hernia in the process (they make these things tough you know. Must be able to withstand re-entry into Earth's atmosphere) Toots reminded us that we had bread in the boot of the car and hadn't fed the ducks yet. We had taken one look at the frozen duck pond at the farm and the acres of mud surrounding it and decided against it.

So, off to Blackford pond to feed the ducks.

The girls enjoyed bunging bread at the birds. The ducks seemed to enjoy dodging the diving gulls. And I snapped these Coots who were too cold to put both feet on the ground.

Who could blame them?
