Monday 23 January 2012: Doggy School night

Every Monday we go off to Doggy School, or Obedience Training Classes as some people know them as.
Jonty has been going all his life, since he was 12 weeks old. Foxy started going shortly after we got him a couple of years ago (Vet thinks he was about 3.5 years old then), but I stopped because I just can't do two dogs at once! A friend at the club (Stonehouse, Gloucestershire) said she would do Jonty so that was very good news for Foxy, although he probably didn't realise it.

Foxy is sooooooooo much better than he was a year ago when he would attack any dog that came within 20 yards of him. He's always been lovely with people but he was very nervous, if not terrified, of other dogs. He's a rescue and so we have no idea what happened in his past life, or lives. He still has the odd snap if someone gets too close, too much eyeballing or a bit too boisterous but in general he is a million times better behaved than he was and it's all down to training and socialising.
