Monday 23 January 2012: Volcán Poas

This is the crater at Poas Volcano outside San José in Costa Rica. This photo was actually taken a couple of days ago, but I haven't had access to the Internet for a little while. It was a perfectly clear day so we had a great view of the steaming caldera and the crater lake, and the mountains in the distance. On the way back to Heredia we stopped at a cafe for a traditional meal of cassado and fresh strawberry drinks and some souvenirs.
All in all, a great day.
