Woebegone - sad or miserable in appearance. Well, he was miserable. He might not need a waterproof jacket like us humans do... even though we are in fact waterproof, it's the clothes that weigh us down ;-) But he was very sad in the continuous rain today, not in his usual place, hidden deep in the hedge. I would have walked right by him if he hadn't have whistled to me, letting me know where he was... And yes, it was me he was whistling too, as when I crouched down to see him, he broke into full song! :)
