Kinda Blipping

Thursday 26 January 2012: I love the traffic...

699/365: ... and the traffic loves me.

In 'crazy fantasy never going to be true ever' world, that is.

Darkness over winter skies
Blackness in their mood
Grimly getting A to B
On service station food

Road-rage stricken drivers
Losing calm and cool
Angry looking mothers screech their
Screaming kids from school

Trite blares out the radio
Sugar-coated grey
Phone in, gossip, interview
Brain numbed all the way

Crisps and coffee, chewing gum
Illicit chat on phone
Onwards car-bound army!
We have to get back home.

I hate commuting. I think this is my second rant on the subject of commuting in as many days. It is such a knackering waste of my time! When I left the house this morning, Maddy's little earnest face appeared at the door to wave me goodbye. If only to sneak back in to the warmth with her and leave the crazy thirty-something woman to drive off into the dark rain! Sadly, the thirty-something woman was me, and it was me who had to do the daily commute. As usual. Grrrrrr!!!!

Ah well. A good enough day at work. And I've come home to Felix in the middle of a Lego-fest. He's complaining about losing one teensy bit of red Lego because it means he can't make his car thing. Apparently. The truth is it's fine. He's just on the verge of grumpdom! At least he's sticking with it and not just giving up. Yay Fizz Whizz.

He's also just shared his theory about people coming back after they die again. He's convinced that my Dad will come back and that Dad will think that Felix is 4 again (as he was when Dad died). He's all wide-eyes and sincerity about it. Maddy is just about humouring him. I wonder why re-incarnation is so high on his list of things to think about at the mo?! A lovely nugget of hopeful and sweet all in one.

PS My mum booked a holiday to China today. Exciting, huh?
PPS Everyone should get the chance to make brilliant memories. Good for her!

(Nerdy photography stuff: Lensbaby Composer with heart-shaped aperture, deliberately out of focus to get nice big heart shaped bokeh)
