Arrived!

Straight from the 'Rhubarb Triangle' an area located around Wakefield, Leeds and Rothwell which grows a huge amount of forced rhubarb. In February 2010 forced Yorkshire Rhubarb gained the accolade of joining the EU's list of protected foods, along side Roquefort cheese and Kalamata olives no less!

Apparently, the indoor forced rhubarb is grown in sheds and traditionally harvested by candlelight to preserve their blushes (that's the rhubarb, not the pickers) and maintain their sweet flavour.
