Welcome to Canada

Woo hoo! After a 9 1/2 hour flight we finally landed in Vancouver on a lovely sunny day. We cleared immigration (eventually) with our Working Holiday Visas in tow and reclaimed our baggage to emerge into our first Canadian morning.

After literally hauling our stuff to the hostel (I can't wait to put it all somewhere and leave it, what do I really need 5 pairs of socks for anyway?) we went out exploring. Walking around the sea wall towards English Bay we came across this bit of public art, Andy being Andy saw it as a mini ramp! Vancouver really is nice, big snow covered mountains in the distance, lots of green spaces and a mix of high rise and double story buildings. Even the light feels Canadian! Our question now is with the mountains calling in the distance, can we stay in the city? There are things to explore, national insurance number equivalents to apply for, mobile phones (sorry, cell phones!) to try and figure out and dare we mention the whole 'lets find a job and somewhere to stay' idea!
