Friday 27 January 2012: Pretty in Pink
700/365: ... or green ('Choose the green one', says Felix... 'No, the pink one', says Maddy... 'Green', 'Pink', 'Green', 'Pink')...
I've settled for green (but it was originally pink... but... oh... dither, dither...)
I made an executive decision. Go me!
This is the official 'end of the week slump'. Am writing this in between going through Maddy's spellings with her. You got to love the hippy school for including the words 'knitting', 'crochet', 'weaving', 'dance' and 'playing'. Subliminal spelling lists. It's the way forwards. :o)
The other thing I've learned from my children today is that kids are cleverer than grown ups. Felix says so. Apparently they're cleverer because they can fit through small holes. And climb trees. Right to the top. Which makes them smarter. The fact that they're smaller is incidental.
I wasn't sure Maddy was that much smarter earlier on when she was wearing a pyjama top on her head, singing and had balanced a silicon egg cup atop the whole lot of insanity. But, who's going to argue, huh?
Because I worked from home today, you're spared a commuting rant. You're also spared me moaning about being too tired. Instead, I can fill you in on 100 reasons why walking the kids home from school when there's a massive grey, rain-filled cloud on the horizon is a stupid idea. Reasons 1 to 99 involve getting soaked, whinging kids, bucket-loads of sulking, a few cold hands, wet-hair sticking across your face. And reason 100 is because it's just a flipping stupid idea. So, obviously when I walked to pick the kids up and then walked home and the big black cloud delivered its soggy promise, I had plenty of time to reflect on all 100 reasons.
PS But now it's the weekend
PPS THE WEEKEND!!!!
PPPS This is blip 700 - not a blip day... but... 700! Flippin' 'eck! :o)
