Ramble On

Lucky you can't hear the mad dogs barking just to the right of shot here - you'd think they had dibs on the views down Lookaboutye Brae here, especially the yappy Jack Russell type. Worse than Scunthorpe security guards so they were.

A three campus work day today which meant I was on the road for a while travelling. Tried listening to the Murray v Djokovic tennis match on the radio which turns out to be one of the most pointless sports to try listening to on the radio. It's too fast; by the time the commentator's mentioned one shot the ball's been across the net and is on its way back, and before they can say who's just won the point the crowd's reaction has already given the game away. Too distracting when you're driving on ice rinks like this and definitely one for the TV. Close match though.

I liked how the group of rambling pensioners (as in walking, I couldn't hear what they were saying but guess it may have revolved around medical conditions and scones) in the distance here stuck rigidly to the rules of the highway code (for vehicles) by keeping to the left as they headed down the brae. As I drove down they all moved to either side apart from one wee wifie who obliviously kept on walking down the middle of the road. Not one of her old buddies shouted or gestured to her that I was there as I pulled up almost to a stop amongst them and it felt like they were waiting to see what happened if I'd just ploughed on. It reminded me of a scene in the original Time Machine movie when Rod Taylor rescues the female Eloi character from drowning whilst all the others watch on unconcerned and wait for her to drown. Either that, or she'd eaten more than her fair share of the scones earlier.

Almost missed out adding this to the series - Cheers Blipper!
