Friday 27 January 2012: The first crocus of 2012

As someone who grew up in the southern hemisphere in countries that did not have long dark and wet winters, now living in the northern hemisphere the first signs of spring are very welcome. Just beside my front door is a bright yellow crocus. And I look out for it each winter, it never fails to brighten my day. This morning it caught me quite by surprise.Spring is on its way!
