Saturday 28 January 2012: So Keep it Up, Quench my Desire...
The girlies are getting there.
They moved up from the Second Division this year, and it was pretty much assumed that as youngsters, with no seasoned hitters in their midst they would struggle.
Last week though, they took 2 sets from a really strong team, and weirdly enough they were playing them again this week. However, there were only 4 of the team regulars, and three youngsters who hadn't played before. So it was going to be a bit of exercise and a run around.
They were thrashed in the first set, but weirdly enough they came on the second set, and found a form. There were rallys going back and forward and back and forward, and they won! Their spirits were up - they were playing their hearts out, and their coach instead of screaming himself hoarse at them, was laughing along with them.
It was great to watch; despite loosing out in the end, it was a great match. That is what sport should be about - enjoyment, exercise and laughter!
