Kinda Horrigans

Saturday 28 January 2012: I've always wanted to be...

701/365: ... this tall.

Says Maddy. Teetering precariously as she stands in my shoes by the doorway. Then clomps her way into the room before falling off like an oafen lump.

It's one of the rites of childhood, isn't it? Trying on your parents' stuff. In Maddy's case, raiding my wardrobe to find shoes I'd forgotten I had. I remember buying these shoes a few years ago for my first 'proper' interview post-babies. In fact, come to think of it... Maddy's attempt to walk in them was suspiciously like my first attempt! If I tried to walk in 'em now, I'd do the same though as I'm pooped!!

Today has been manic.

And, some how getting out of the house to be at the swimming pool by 9am is almost beyond us. All week we can get out of the house for work and school... but come the weekend, we collapse in a hopeless heap. Maddy did manage to get to her lesson on time. Just. And when we got there she nearly bailed out - again - but survived and joined the rest of her class... plus gave it all a really good go. In between her lesson and Felix's lesson we rushed our way around the supermarket. Dodging elderly people as we went. In fact Maddy tactfully went 'there are lots of really OLD people here today'... just as we walked past lots of grey haired shoppers. '... and lots of young people... and lots of middle aged people'... I blurted out, attempting to cover up and failing. D'oh!

After that, Felix had his lesson... then, home for lunch... then making pizza dough and sauce for pizza later, plus a batch of fairy cakes for visitors this afternoon.

Then, noise, chaos, giggling, falling over, chasing, playing, fairy games, food, sprinkles... and so on until 8pm and all tired visitors were leaving.

PS Weekends are the bit of the week where you rest... right?
PPS Right?!?!?!?!
