Wednesday 1 February 2012: Cold Weather Cycling
Walking to school today, wrapped up in two scarves, a woollen overcoat and a nice warm pair of gloves I couldn't help but have some sympathy with those cycling commuters who must have been freezing.
The coldest walk to work this school year.
It brought back memories of cycling when I was young, staying in unheated, damp youth hostels and cycling for 4-5 hours drenched through to the skin under a crinkly cagoule.
The dark moments of cycling come when the whole of your groin and backside are sopping wet and you know you're 3 hours from your cold, damp destination.
I used to love it, though!
Cycling commuters - you have my sympathy today!
