The Edge of the Wold

Energy Coast

The west coast of Cumbria with the nuclear reprocessing facility at Sellafield is euphemistically called the Energy Coast, and to be fair there is a lot of off-shore wind generation in place with a lot more to come (and probably a new nuclear power station too). This view across Morecambe Bay is actually south of the Energy Coast, but includes the wind turbines that sit off Barrow-in-Furness and are visible on days when the light is good and the air clean.

This was the first time for several months that I've seen the sun sinking into the sea rather than cloud, and it was chance that the setting sun silhouetted several of the wind turbines.

My head was still densely packed with cotton wool today, but this afternoon I felt a lot better. It was good to get out for some fresh air.

Thank you for all the suggestions for robin names yesterday. There were a few excellent ones to choose from. I did particularly enjoy JillyMint's observation that the puffed up robin with her skinny legs looked like Sputnik: a sphere with spiky things sticking out.
