Wednesday 1 February 2012: On the big telly

The Blipfoto journey is one of high speed. A day rarely goes by without an exciting development or opportunity of some sort. Being at the helm, that excitement becomes strangely normal and you do start taking a lot of it in your stride.

But very occasionally something of such significance happens that I'm forced to step back and consider how far we've come. The Bafta was one such moment. And today, after we launched the final Scotland The World Over film, watching the video message from Scotland's First Minister was another.

I can still distinctly remember sitting in my bedroom, trying to think up a name for my new website. To hear that word spoken by the chap in charge of the country seven years later is quite staggering.

And what of the big telly, I hear you ask. Well, normally I object most strongly to these horrible things, but I'm putting all that aside for a short while on Sunday afternoon, as this one on Lothian Road will be used to give the first public premiere of the movie.

And you're invited - 2pm. Bring your dancing shoes.
