Thursday 2 February 2012: fish van
I've lived in the hills east of Perth for 20+ years and the fish van...well maybe not this exact van but certainly the fish man...has camped under the same eucalypt tree every Friay and Saturday.
His is one of several in various suburbs and along the coastal highways. Every time I drive past them they seem to be from another era with hand written signs, serving hatches and fly ribbons. The prices perhaps give all that away.
Today I bought Tasmanian salmon (skin on. Crispy and pan seared? why not) and Fremantle sardines. Bring on the Omega 3!
