An Irish Guy Abroad

Down the ginnel

Now there's a Lancashire word for you. I went out to the chemist to get my wife some tablets and on the way home I was taken by the look of one of the doors in the ginnel (Back Alley). This led me on a bit of a journey I might have to make this a theme. These all came from one block and there are many ginnels to explore.

A lot of these houses are about 100 years old and the stone which frames the gate is old and worn. There is barely a straight line, the walls are bowed and the transoms are all askew. Every gate has its own character.
