Snow

It has started to snow tonight, looks as if we are finally getting some real winter weather at Bremen :-) It doesn't seem to disturb the ducks, though.

I went to my Low German group last night for the first time this year. Low German (Plattdeutsch) is a local language, not a dialect, that is now getting popular again. It's even taught at schools, and more and more parents would like their children to learn it :-) Strictly speaking, I grew up in a bilingual community, which not unusual in North Germany. Low German is recognised and protected by the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages.

It looks as if we're going to have another glorious winter's day. The sun is shining and the air is beautifully clear. If you look under the bridge on the pic (Melchersbrücke, opened in 1883) you can get a glimpse of the Parkhotel.

Have a lovely time :-)
