As the early morning traffic goes whizzing by, and the blue signs point to a none existent taxi rank, 2 police patrol the corner of Union Street and Bridge Street.
Across the road, is the the bridge on Union Street, called Union Bridge, that Bridge Street is named after.
This particular part of the bridge, regularly has people, mainly males, either jumping off or threatening to do so.
The road gets closed, causing a lot of inconvenience, usually on weekend evenings, and the police deal with the situation , or, down below on the road called The Denburn, or the railway tracks that run parallel to it, retrieve, the poor fellow's body.
Last Saturday night a particular young gentleman caused the road to be closed whilst the officers of the law successfully coaxed him down.
You may notice to the left of the of the traffic light 2 oblong lights;
These are relatively new phone kiosks, the lights are rolling advertising bill boards, containing 2 adverts om each ( none of which are " Massage? Call Kathy " or anything like that. )
In fact the right hand one is the prime reason for this particular blip. I noticed after last Saturday's incident, much to my amusemant, that one of the said advertisements was for the soon to be released movie, Man On A Ledge.
