Friday 3 February 2012: Sumi-E
Today was my first sumi-e class. Pronounce it: "sue me - ay" (as in day without the d).
I learned how to properly grind/prepare the ink, then practiced my first of the four basic brush strokes (also known as the Four Gentlemen). The first stroke is called Bamboo. With this stroke you really can draw bamboo.
