Friday 1 August 2008: Greater Spotted Woodpecker....
I was awakened by some loud and unrelenting tapping from 05:00am until I came out of the caravan at 07:45am, and then it stopped.
I came out armed with my Camera and a long lens, I looked around for a while thinking it had flown away as per normal, but then I spotted it lurking in the trees opposite the Van, I took three shots of which this one was the best as it shows him in full view.
He then departed having done his duty and woke me up for the third day running, and I went off to work.
Hope you all like him as much as the Common Blue yesterday.
