Sunday 5 February 2012: Like a necklace of frozen rain
It snowed very heavily all night but the air temperature was so mild in London that the thaw started as soon as it became light.
No bright blue skies and sunshine though, so the annual snowman competition which happens in my road never happened. Everyone stayed in bed.
