Monday 6 February 2012: Dawn on Waitangi Day.
This morning I was really hoping there would be a lovely sunrise we have had such dark grey mornings. As you can see for a brief moment the sun peeped through.
Today is Waitangi Day a public holiday .. The Treaty of Waitangi was signed on this day in 1840, at Waitangi in the Bay of Islands. The Treaty made New Zealand a part of the British Empire, guaranteed M?ori rights to their land and gave M?ori the rights of British subjects.
