Pigeon lofts....

or crees. We found these along the River Tyne today, and couldn't believe how precarious they seemed.
A North-East hobby is pigeon keeping, and those who keep them are known as fanciers, who race their birds.
Crees are usually built from any odds and ends of materials that can be found, and built facing the sun. These seem to fill all the criteria, but I'm afraid only light weight people will be able to enter them, otherwise they will collapse.
I'm going on a mystery night out tonight. It is my very big birthday on Friday, and as an early present, I am being taken out by my eldest daughter, and youngest gradddaughter. I'll let you know tomorrow where we go.
