Tuesday 7 February 2012: Car stress

I generally don't do stress.

I was brought up in a household with an attitude of 'do what you can to fix it, and deal with what you get'.

But I've found myself surprisingly wound up about cars today.

We are trying to buy a new one. Having trouble settling on what we are after as it's all so very different from every car we have ever had before.

And then, yesterday, this little girl stopped. Went to start her up in the morning and just as she fired into life she changed her mind again.

Initial thoughts yesterday were the cam belt. It seemed to have the symptoms, which put me in a bad mood (as did the £188 estimate to fix).

But a closer look in the light of day today revealed the cam is still rolling over ok.

Who would have thought; uncertainty is aparently worse than £188?

Being a natural perfectionist means items like this really frustrate me.

Time to wind down and get some sleep... it'll all make more sense in the morning.
