Thursday 9 February 2012: Methodist Chapel, Yaxley

Early blip today so I can try to make headway writing the meeting report from Tuesday's meeting ahead of another meeting down in London tomorrow...

I had a dentist appointment in the old part of the village first thing this morning (no major problems thankfully) and before I came home I wandered along Main Street to take a few photos. It's a grey and miserable day and none of the photos of 'street scenes' did the beautiful old village buildings justice - in Ant's words, they were a bit 'bland' - so instead I've gone with a photo of an old chapel.

In addition to St Peter's church, which I've blipped before (here and here), the village apparently had numerous chapels - Wesleyan, Congregationalist, Baptist and Methodist. The parish council's website has a photo claiming that this is the Methodist Chapel, but it also seems to be called 'Stretton Hall', according to the address details for the business currently occupying it. Despite hunting about online, I can't find much else about it so I'll have to go with Methodist Chapel unless someone knows better or I find more detail later on...
