Pipe Shop

I spent most of today in a meeting at the Edinburgh Training & Conference Venue, right opposite Kilberry Bagpipes' store at 27 St Mary's Road.

While googling that last reference, I came across the story of Photographer and Bagpipe Maker John Center. As the author of the John Center Website comments: "Some of the early professional photographers were also involved in other trades, but John Center is the only professional photographer I know of who also earned his living as a bagpipe maker." However, he adds, "Today, his bagpipes are rather more sought after than his photos."

I wonder if John was alive now, if he would make his pipes and post daily updates on Blipfoto...
