Big Fat Liar

He is Big, he is Fat and from what I can see, he is a bloody liar. The Right Honourable Gerry Brownlee our member of Parliament who is overseeing our
Earthquake Recovery. Definately on the right side of the political spectrum, honourable I am not so sure. He called our Mayor a 'clown' this week - I guess it takes one to know one.....
He stated that the demolition teams would save whatever materials they could from the Red Zone homes....today, across our street the homes started to be demolished...full tilt, it took approximately 20 minutes to destroy a home with all its memories, hard work, dedication and love that was poured into it - within minutes it was gone.
Did I see any of the beautiful stained glass windows, rimu/kauri doors taken out, brand new roofing, anything that could be reusable - NO. It was criminal.
Kiwi's are the largest DIYer's in the world - we love to go to the demolitions yards to pick up bits and pieces to use in our homes in restorations...we would re-use a paper clip if we can find a use for it!!
This was just a travesty watching this today, shame on you Gerry Brownlee, you are one big fat liar, shame on you National Government and CERA for allowing this to happen.
