Sunday 12 February 2012: Three ducks on ice
It's not that cold in Edinburgh today, so I was rather surprised to encounter an iced over pond during our walk this afternoon. Our daughter enjoyed throwing bread on the ice and watching the ducks slide around trying to get to them before their rivals. So she has now made the shattering discovery that ducks can't skate, which I hope can somehow be used for her 'British birds' primary school project.
I chose this one because of the ice patterns, the ducks' shadows, and the human brain's propensity to treat three points of data as a linear trend.
