Sunday 12 February 2012: B is for Birches

After a lovely meal at Fratelli in Castor last night, which included not just three courses but also a surprise strawberry ice cream with birthday candle each for me (don't panic, you've not missed it yet) and Ant's father, we had a lazy morning with croissants and some telly. Nicky and Tom left just before lunch for a 60th birthday on Tom's side, and Ant, his father and I wrapped up warm and went for a walk for a couple of hours or so up at Holme Fen.

We swung by Whittlesey on our drive home to try to catch the fen skaters but weren't exactly sure where they were and so ended up coming straight home. I cooked a roast dinner tonight, which was yummy (though I say so myself) and now we're soon off to bed.

Today's 'B is for ...' blip for pontycyclops' alphabet challenge is some birches up at Holme Fen. I've tweaked the contrast a bit. I've posted some more pictures from there into a set called Holme Fen in the Snow in my Flickr account.
