Tuesday 7 February 2012: 39. no state income tax

texas has no state income tax. this is very uncommon in the US but if you grow up without it, it is extremely shocking when you move elsewhere. here you see one of my TX tax returns next to one of my MA ones. no state taxes in TX for me!
