Monday 13 February 2012: hibiscus
I think of hibiscus as being amongst the hawaiian shirts of tropical flowers. Usually big, blowsy and colourful , coming across this delicate little lantern moving gently in the lunchtime hot breeze in a local pub's garden was a real surprise.
I can't find anything like it on hibiscus fanciers sites but am sure it is a variety. A mad keen gardening friend is equally sure and just as surprised.
