Wednesday 15 February 2012: The Ivy Green
This blipfoto reminded me of Charles Dickens' poem the ivy green
Ivy has a poor reputation as a parasitic plant but I rather like the thought engendered by the poem that given time it can reduce man's architectural heritage to the same dust that all things come from.
Last year I denuded our ivy covered cottage from this creeping destroyer before it took the building over completely .
