El Camino

Metal fatigue

This is part of a huge contemporary metal sculpture that decorates a roundabout at the bottom of our mountain.
It's the work of Marino Amaya, a celebrated Spanish sculptor who has for many years lived in our mountain neighbourhood.
I had the privilege of interviewing him a couple of years ago for the local paper. Although his work is exceptionally varied and in some of the greatest collections around the world, he has become better known for his claim of seeing an extra terrestrial in our neighbourhood in the 90s. He's now quite eccentric.

For those in Southern Spain, you may be interested to know that 'Latitudes' The 4th International Photography Festival opened this week in Huelva, until 1st April.

They have amongst their exhibitions one on 'iphoneography' showcasing the work of some of the best in this field.
