Wednesday 15 February 2012: Birthday in Birmingham

Before I say anything about today and today's blip, I have to thank everyone so much for all the comments, stars, favourites and even top spot on the Spotlight page. I'm so chuffed I can't even begin to tell you. It was a very simple set up involving a bit of paper on a stick, Ant's eye and my beloved macro reversed lens. It was bloody fiddly. I have a very tolerant and understanding husband, who was still suffering from the after-effects of keeping his eye open under the glare of my spotlight long after I'd posted my blip. If it hadn't been so fiddly the 365 would have been in the middle of his pupil...

I haven't had chance to thank anyone personally yet (I promise I will at some point), as I've been up in Birmingham today for a meeting. My alarm went off at 5.15 am and I got home at 8pm, having stood on the train all the way from Birmingham to Leicester, in 2" heels. Ant picked me up from the station and took me home via Pizza Hut, which is the traditional evening meal on my birthday - I'm easily pleased. Ant also bought me chocolate cake, as the there was no cake at the meeting :( I did get a card signed by everyone I know at my client's office though :) I've got some lovely cards and fab presents - a bottle of wine, some chocolate liqueurs, a Next voucher, a couple of books on architecture, a homemade cake, money from my parents, and, from Ant, a camera cleaning kit :D and a very cool box set by one of my favourite bands, Jane's Addiction (I think that may get blipped at some point!).

Today's picture was taken from the hotel where today's meeting was held, looking out through a window across the balcony, which was closed for maintenance. The church in the background is apparently St Paul's Church in Hockley, about which I know nothing! I've popped another picture of the St Chad's Cathedral, which is the Catholic 'mother church' opposite the hotel in my Blipfolio.
