Wednesday 15 February 2012: Happy Birthday to Me!
When my friend C turned 80 a couple weeks ago she gave all the women in our ukulele/knitting group (The Knukers?) a round wooden ball with a rudimentary face. The assignment was for each of us to make an image of ourselves that she could arrange on her worktable and never be far from her circle of friends. The offerings have been coming in steadily, and amazingly enough each little round ball has been transformed into a recognizable unique person.
This is me, wearing a mini scarf like the colorful one it took me a year to complete for myself. And I made this doll today, on my own birthday. So Happy Birthday C, and Happy Birthday Me!
