Thursday 16 February 2012: A Rail To Make You Wail!
Sometimes the nature gods laugh at you.
When Bevosity and my brother went to Slimbridge a couple of days back, Bev got this picture of a Water Rail.
Today, our coughs and splutters slowly becoming controllable, we decided to venture down to Forest Farm.
I decided to take just the 300mm lens, as when you put food on the bird tables down there, they practically land on you .. so no need for a mega zoom.
It appears Bev keeps a Water Rail in her handbag, as this one was showing well from one of the hides. I am convinced it is the same one she saw up at Slimbridge!
It's not a bad picture, but it would have been a lot better at 500mm!
We had a cracking time and were surrounded by singing robins and blue tits ... made a change from coughing!
Spring is on it's way!
