715/365: ... beside the seaside

Hooray! We're on holiday!

It did take a morning's worth of chaos and a load of random stuff being packed by the kids. I escaped a little of it to go down to the shops to get some bread and bits while Nick sorted out the house. And Maddy wrote another letter to our neighbours to explain how to look after Poppy.

This letter was labelled:

And the instructions went as follows:

Poppy instructons
Feed her three time's a day. Lotts of play.
She also like's beeing strokd
and also like's beeing the
sentor of etenchon.
Might bit for food. Ding
Bowl if not coming
She may lay down. She

And there's a picture of Poppy with enormous eyelashes and stars shooting around her. Pat, our neighbour, solemnly read through the letter (which the kids had fought over giving to her - they both wanted to do it - aaargh!) and shortly after (and obviously I guiltily gave Poppy some extra food) we managed to escape the house.

The journey down here was uneventfully dull. And quick (comparatively, it's still a heck of a way!). Mainly because I fell asleep as did Felix and Maddy? which meant that Nick drove like a bloke. I'll say no more other than we made VERY good time.

Arrived at the cottage just as the sun set? had some dinner? then tootled off to see our friends who very conveniently live just up the road for a chat and a quick catch-up.

Now, sitting drinking hot chocolate and about to read my book
