Daddy to take the picture!
The last gallery I remember taking Monkey Boy to was the modern collection at the Pompidou. After half an hour of sulking, he decided "Daddy's pictures are stinky!" So I was amazed when he said he wanted me to bring him to the local gallery at the Highlanes.
Thanks to the guidance of local artist Nano Reid, the town has an excellent municipal collection - including a Lowry sketch of the Boyne viaduct. And surprisingly, they are still adding pieces such as this bust of Samuel Beckett. Monkey Boy wanted to know who he was and why they had the sculpture.
So, do I start him with "Godot", or send him straight to the trilogy?
