Sunday 19 February 2012: Japanese feel to the autumn garden

This is one of the shots taken on a Photography Course the photography club did with Mike Langford today.

Not ready for this amount of autumn!

The water is this colour as they are just refilling the ponds after they were damaged in the earthquakes.

We had time with him first while he showed us new things to try, and then time in the gardens trying them. I found it hard, trying to keep it all in my head, while looking for images, composing them, then trying different ways of taking them.

After lunch we all had to choose 6 shots, either because we liked them, or because they hadn't quite come out as intended, or to ask how they could be improved - it was a very worthwhile session, and great to see how different all the others were.

Tomorrow he's speaking at the club, on something completely different - so much to learn so little time!
