Sunday 19 February 2012: View from Ao Nang beach, am 19 Feb

The beach at Ao Nang is good, but there are much better along the coast and on nearby islands. These "long tail" boats are used to ferry folk to and fro between islands and beaches. They are traditional fishing boats, now powered by largely un-silenced car engines, mounted on a swivel at the transom, driving a long shaft to the propeller, hence the "long tail" label. Think we'll try one tomorrow.

Rained like hell yesterday on the way here, and again overnight. Result? HUMIDITY! Absolutely baking. Lovely :-)

Cheers,
G&S
