Sunday 19 February 2012: A day in York
Shhh, I skived off church today (and I was meant to be doing communion!)
To be fair the communion rota in our church is a fairly flexible feast, so long as there are four deacons then alls good. Simon wanted to do something nice as a family and I think God would agree that sometimes you can take time out to enjoy his creation etc.
We went to York and inevitably went round the railway museum (again) but then walked to Rowntree park along the river with the boys on their bikes and had great fun playing on all the climbing frames. I was so beautiful. such a lovely day and the boys rode their bikes brilliantly. To be fair it was a doddle for them as most of the time we tell them they have to ride up impossible hills or through masses of mud so being told to ride along a tarmac'd path was incredible freedom for them and they went fast, very fast, in fact so fast it wasn't all that relaxing for us as we dashed after them and called out sorry to various pedestrians that had to leap out of their way.
I did take some very arty photos (obviously) but I don't often get nice natural shots of Bob as he usually acts up to the camera and gurns, so it had to be this one today:-)
