Tuesday 21 February 2012: Oystercatcher

Stuck my head over the harbour wall at Buckhaven and up flew about twenty Oystercatchers that had been sheltering in its lee. I said Sorry Oystercatchers, checked there was nothing else I was going to disturb then set the telescope up to scan the Forth and up flew another twenty Oystercatchers. How can a big black and white bird with a bright orange bill be so well camouflaged? The answer's in the photo.
