where paths meet

Contrast

Silhouettes of tree and pylon on a grey and damp afternoon. The rain was persistent but only briefly heavy, mainly light fine drizzle.

Pylons are useful, but I do prefer the tree..... There are quite a lot of pylons in the area with a large sub-station east of Chesterfield. They often intrude on local photos, but sometimes you just have to allow them the limelight.

The tree has no electric power supply, but still manages to lift water and nutrients from the roots to the topmost leaves. Something that happened by design rather than by chance, IMHO.
